Description
The Rossignol Super Blackops 98 is built for skiers who want playfulness and power in one ski. Inspired by ‘90s styling and performance, it features a poplar wood core with titanal beam reinforcement, full rectangular sidewalls, and twin rocker profile for float, drift, and grip across mixed snow conditions.
It delivers a surfy, smearing style with plenty of edge control thanks to its reinforced build. The twin rocker tips make off-axis turns fun, while its sidewalls and titanal beam provide stability and confidence at speed.
Freeride riders who want one ski that handles big terrain, choppy snow, and playful moments. Ideal for advanced skiers who ride aggressively but still want a ski they can ride all over the mountain.
- Sidecut: 131 – 98 – 121 mm
- Available lengths: 162, 172, 182, 192 cm
- Radius: approx 14 m (shorter lengths) up to ~22 m (longest)
- Construction: Poplar core with Titalan beam reinforcement
- Profile: Twin rocker (tip & tail) for float and surfy turns
- Full rectangular sidewall for edge hold and power transfer
- Weight: ranges ~1.8 to ~2.2 kg per pair depending on length
While it floats and drifts well, the Super Blackops 98 may not perform like a dedicated powder ski in very soft snow. Its rockered tips can feel loose in tight trees, and its stiff build demands good technique.
Skis generally ride true to size. For more maneuverability and playful drift, sizing down slightly can help. For stability, especially in high speeds and chop, stay at your usual length or size up.
